Xie Yuqi graduated in 2025 from the Leicester International Institute at Dalian University of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In the same year, she began her PhD studies at the University of Leicester, funded by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). Her research, titled "Sustainable Alloys for Industrial Waste Management Applications," addresses the growing need for advanced materials in environmental remediation, chemical processing, and wastewater treatment. The project aims to develop high-resilience alloys capable of enduring extreme corrosive and mechanical stresses, conditions under which conventional materials like stainless steel often degrade. Aligned with global sustainability goals, the research integrates computational modelling, advanced metallurgy, and experimental validation to accelerate the design of next-generation alloys.
